Nothing really has changed with the tank. It is water change day and all went as expected. My plan to lower the Radions intensity some more is still going to plan...unsure where I'll stop as I'm at 80% currently.
For those just tuning in, there are dulled out LPS in my sandbed. Thought is too much light, as the Radions were at 100% intensity. This ranges from a war coral, to a handful of plate coral.
Going to think some more tonight as it wears on...it is important as I have just placed a quick and spontaneous purchase from the diver's den. A Bazooka Joe chalice! A low to medium light coral in a high light tank...they need turned down for sure. Totally needed a nice piece for the tank to show off to the almost wife, as the wedding is this weekend. I'll call it my wedding coral...so it can't die, that's for sure!

Always could be better I think. Tested phosphates last night and it read at 0.00. I'll just not trust that and see about doing it again tonight if I get a chance. There is still just too much algae growth in my display for my liking. Some is fine, no problem...just less would put a smile on my face.

Ok. Drip acclimation done and placed in the tank near the clam. Clam 'barrier' removed to see how things go with that. Set the Radions to acclimation mode at 50% power for 4 weeks.

That's a bazooka joe chalice. First run at a chalice.

Very cool. Massive overkill on packing though. I usually get four or five frags in a little 6x6 box.

I got some kind of chalice a couple weekends ago (I think Miami Hurricanes?). Seems okay so far. My first attempt too.

Acclimation continues now that it is water change day.
The largest piece of interest is my mushroom leather hasn't had the polyps out in about a week. Original thinking is that this is it just shedding the slime coat. But now today, I've noticed my mandarin is finally nowhere to be found. Though sad, scratching my head if they are tied together. I believe that they aren't tied together and that the mandarin ended up starving while the tank wasn't receiving much love the last 2 weeks as everyone prepped for wedding day.
So, possible action of doubling up on my water change now that the first 4 gallons is through as of now.
In terms of the mandarin...this no longer being there brings in the possibility of a wrasse again! This will take much research, in a week where I'm in charge of my dormitory at work, on wrasses that could clear out the vermetid snails. The concern would be a wrasse that would do so would also go after my feather duster and coco worm, which obviously we don't want to occur as I still feel that this coco worm is breaking the myth that they are hard to care for.
