How long do coral live? What exactly is involved for hammer coral?

I did more research and it looks like mushrooms are the way to go for me. Any advice one care? And when I mean advice I mean walk me through the whole thing because I've never kept coral in my life! So start from you have an empty ten gallon without ANY water.

I go through the set up of my of my 10g reef in my thread "operation clown goby rescue" in the nano reefs section, should give you a good idea of what goes into setting up a nano. Tanks pretty simple set up and is on auto pilot, weekly wc and filter cleaning is all.
