well the recent thread on starfish and how you cant let them touch air etc. well somtimes when I go to the LFS, I will see the choclate chip and other stars (never the lininki (sp) though) will kinda "crawl" out of water....is this ok for them since they are doing it to themselves or?

A lot of Sea Stars can survive for long periods out of the water (you see them on rocks during low tide for example) and it's normal for Sand Shifting & Chocolate Chip to hang out near the top and even have part of their body out of the water.
