I started my tank 3 weeks ago by starting with just water and salt mix waited till there wqs no more salt on the bottom of the tank than added sand a few days later (with the pump and heater on) than I added 10lbs of live rock, some seeeing gravel/water from my fish shop and a peice of shrimp all most a week ago, am I on the right path????

Starting a sw aquarium?

Ya your on the right track, although any future tanks you set up I would advise against adding water from a lfs system, you never know what's in that system and very little bb will be in the water itself. Are you setting up a 10 g or a 30? If a 30 you need more rock but that's about it

Its a 29 and I know I just got 10lbs to start to keep the cost down in all one shot trying to spread it out

You can use dry base rock to fill out your tank it will save you a lot of cash.

Base rock is usually $2-3 a lbs. It looks good and comes in nice pieces to scape with it just doesn't have any bb on it really is the only difference
