starting my 27 gallon reef tank

Just started cycling my tank about a week ago using two raw shrimp.
I made a diy sump refugium
Im waiting on my overfliw box to arrive
It will drain 300 gph
What size pump will i need to return the same 300gph back to the tank?
Im using some live rock but i also put 8 lbs of dry rock as the base
How long until corraline algae begins to grow on it?
