Well ive already got a big external filter a mini internal filter and I'm getting new lighting a big power head and my protein skimmer and might be buying my mates little tank you know make a mini sump should sort it out a ?

Having dealt with red slime myself..I feel your pain, but don't give up. Those are all good ideas. If you want to go the chemical route I used this red slime remover on a tip from my lfs. I used it with no ill effects to my tank and it works fast. Just remove the dead slime when its done its thing. I haven't seen any red slime since. Good luck
