I'm designing my sump around my skimmer. Easier that way IMO.

I'd urge you to reconsider the bioballs. They can be nitrate factories if not cleaned from time to time. I'd probably just use LR rubble instead.

Why no bioballs. I have bioballs and thought they help to maintain the tank alongside the sump and skimmer.

Bioballs require more maintanence, so you use up more of your time.
