Sump type

I am looking into a new tank setup and it will have a sump. Any input on how to set it up wet dry or ref

Don't worry with wet dry, spend money on a great skimmer. Look up DIY 20 gallon long sump

I guess i should have said I'm looking at a 110 gallon tank. Is a 20 gallon sump big enough? Also what flow size return pump would i need.
