Sw fish

This is a very random question but why are saltwater fish so expensive? One freaking shrimp at our lfs is around 30 bucks. I guess it's fancy or something.

I think it is because many saltwater fish are taken from the reef, whereas many freshwater species are tank-bred. Just a guess!
