tank support

Is it ok for only the back and the front of the tank to be supported? I had built the stand for my frag/growout tank 36'' long to accommodate the lighting, however I forgot one crucial thing the tanks are only 30'' long 8O . So the ends of the tank are not supported. The front, back and all 4 corners have a beam under them just not the two 12" sides.

Does the stand have a top on it? No support at all ie. plywood top? Or you mean structurally? Did that make sense?
