What test kits does everyone recommend?? I've had a freshwater setup for years and have been using the api kit. Is the saltwater one ok? Or is there a better one?

API is fine for ammonia/Trites/trates but anything else I'd use salifert. Like calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, phosphates

When I actually use the basic tests when cycling, API will do the trick. When it comes to monitoring the parameters for my reef, I use Hanna Checkers and Red Sea.

Red sea is what I currently use for alk, calcium, and magnesium. Salifert for phosphate.

The Hannah checkers would be nice, but they are a smidge out of my price range.

I prefer the red sea kits and hanna checker for PO4. I really like the ease of reading the red sea titration tests.

Have used many of the salifert kits as well, they are nice. I always end up back with Red Sea.
