I just wanted to check on how our water "looked". We have a Red Sea Marine lab kit. I tested last night.

Salinity 1.020
Ph 8.4-8.5
Alkalinity normal-high
Nitrite 0
Nitrate b/w25-50 high, b/w 5.0-10 low (I mixed the order, but not the amount of additives B & C, didn't know if I should redo the test)
amonia .25 (closer in color to 0 than to .50)

Thanks,
Kimberly

Your existance of ammonia indicates you should not add fish yet (im guessing your cycling the tank). If you do have fish I would suggest a water change to get the ammonia down some more. The salanity could be bumped up a little but its still in the acceptable range for a fish only tank. The PH seems a bit high. It should be more like 8.2 You might have a problem lowering the PH with high alkinity though.
