I have a question???? Does a toadstool nuke a tank when it dies??? Cause since the past heat wave that passed in NYC,it took out only my toadstool and I didn't take it out until three days later when I noticed something like black/brown hair algae coming off it. Then I noticed it was on all the corals like a rapping:-(

Right now to try and save the tank I did a 50% water change, while fanning & cleaning out most of that black/brown stuff :-/
Perimeters are on The spot, temp is back down to 78 degree.

No, a Toadstool can't nuke the whole tank. It just sounds like you've got an algae bloom, from the high temperatures.

Yeah I think you right :-/........ I'm having a bad feeling it's cyano bacteria :-(
Now that I look at it it's more like red hair algae and my sand bed on one section looks real red.
I'll keep checking......

Bacteria reproduce faster with high temp and since cyano is a bacteria this likely explains the sudden bloom and it should not become a big problem unless you have lots of excess nutrients.
