topping off during cycling period?

i just wanted to know if it is necessary to top off while in the cycling stage. my tank has been cycling now for about 2 weeks and i've lost about a gallon of water. should i top it off or is it ok to just wait until my cycle finishes and do a water change?

I would continue to top off with FW. Remember, water evaporates, salt doesn't.

so if my understanding is correct...the salt doesn't evaporate, which means if i don't top off with FW, my SG will go up?
