tryed the JBJ Handheld Salinity/thermometer?

Hey, im considering on buying the new JBJ Digi-Lab TSS http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=JB3111

It can measure salinity, specific gravity, AND temperature. I think its worth 100 bucks, if it works. Anyone have one or have tryed one? Is it worth buying?

Yes I have tried one before. They are pretty cool, however the readings are inconsistent.

They must be calibrated with (I believe) a calcium hydroxide solution. It seems that the gold plated sensor at the bottom of the device is very sensitive. Any debris or salt deposits that build up give awfully inaccurate readings.

Not worth the money in my opinion. HTH
