Used live sand?

I'm picking up some live sand for free..(its been sitting a while o guess ) so I don't think its live anymore lol..I'm not sure the condition of it..but how to I rinse/clean it before adding to my tank

IMO put it in a 5 gallon bucket and rinse it until the water runs clear. Treat with chlorine remover and rinse with tank water. If you have time let it dry too. Good luck!
 
I see your in Fl are you near the ocean? I rinse used sand in ocean water. Then use it

5 gal bucket and wash the he'll out of it until the water is clear you don't have to let dry if your in a hurry but if you have time just sun dry it for a day, if you have wax paper it's perfect for this. Lay it out thin, pour out the sand layer it thin and dry it. I've done this with 100lbs of sand I know it can be done lol
