Uv sterilizer truth!!

Do they really work ? Because I used to keep tangs and anthias and for some reason I can't them anymore they last about a month and they die , I'm about to get a purple tang but before I do I want to make sure it will live , so getting to the point would a uv sterilizer help ?

They work in that anything that passes thru the UV sterilizer will die. If you are wondering about it being a cure for parasites, the answer is no. Not all will pass thru the UV and those that live will reproduce.
