I went to my LFS the other day and was telling the owner how amazed I was at the job my skimmer does. Every time I empty that nasty cup I am happy I made the purchase. I told him the only problem I have is that the air line tubing keeps on clogging up every other week or so. I would then break it down, clean all the parts, reassemble it, and put it back. He told me a trick and I had to laugh at how simple the solution was:
-- Just let the tube suck some clean FW through it, about 1 cup.
I tell you I still have tons of learning still to do, even after the books I read I never saw something like this addressed. It is things like this that make this 'hobby' fun. Like they say 'if you learn something new it was a good day'.
