It is base rock, so there is nothing at all living on it. And you can get it dry if you want. How is the baserock being kept now? If he has it in a tank with some actual LR
, it might be more than base rock and you will want to keep it submerged in proper salt water. You can mix tap water in buckets (or even a new trash can) with marine salt and stick the rocks in there with a heater and a powerhead. Then, you just fill you main tank with RO
water and move the rock into it.
Anyway, once you get the shrimp in there, I would HIGHLY reccomend you pick up at least one piece or LR
and a scoop of LS
to really get that tank going.
