You have made a good move by coming here and asking. I belong to several forums, but this one is my favorite. There are plenty of people here willing and able to offer good advice and not make it sound like they are talking down to you. If you have questions, this is a great place to get answers. Unfortunately a lot of LFS's will tell you something so they can make a sale and their answers tend to be wrong. The people here are active aquarists with a lot of experence and can tell you what works, what doesnt work and what their opinions are on a lot of issues.

Why do I love fish? Because every time I stare into the little world I have created for them, every problem I have just floats away....

I had one guy reply and I was amazed at what he said. I don't know alot but I do know that his advice would get an aquirium in trouble real fast. He said to use tap water and just dose it with chemical. He said I don't need live sand and rock, and didn't need a heater. Not sure what he was trying pull, but I do know I won't be following his advice.
Yes I have meet some very knowledgable people and will follow what they suggest and maybe someday, I can be the one giving advice. Thanks for the encouragement. Can't wait to get started but will do it as I can afford it. I want to do it right and by doing so, Our family will have hours of enjoyment. I have a 15 year old grand daughter living with us and I know she will definatly want to be apart of this learn process.
Thanks again.
