Washing live sand

Alright, I have a few questions regarding live sand. Do you have to wash it like regular sand? Can you put live sand down first then live rock?
Any info on live sand or setting up a saltwater aquarium will be helpfull.

I believe washing live sand would defeat the purpose of buying live sand. For your info it goes rock first (on the tank bottom) then sand...

Thanks, I wasn`t 2 sure on that. I don`t have enough money right now to buy the rock, but I have everything else, so could I set my tank up to cycle and add live rock later?

It's best to add it at the beginning as it will serve as your main type of filtration (and provide a home for all the beneficial bacteria) and also provide places for fish to hide etc. it is best to wait and do it properly the first time...

You could buy dry (base) rock, it's cheaper and will become live over time.
