My ammonia spike has passed, but my nitrites are still very high. Should I do a water change to get them down? My tank has only been in cycle for 4 days. One more question. If my nitrites do go should I do a water change anyway?

I'd wait until the cycle has completed. If you are freaking out about your readings you could do a small water change, but I wouldn't. I've always let my cycle run the course.

Let it run its course then do a good size water change when ammonia and nitrites are zero. This will help reduce the builtup nitrates.

Unless there are fish in there, let it get real nasty and then start your tank. My ammonia has stayed near 0 since because a complete cycle was allowed.
