Water Changes?

Ok so I don't wander to these forums very often, I'm currenly keeping around 1200g of aquariums of large SA/CA and africans and the weekly 50% water changes get to be a grind sometimes, so I've had this 14 biocube sitting NIB on my nightstand wondering what to do. The last thing I want are more weekly water changes now mixing salt. Now I know filtration and bioload play a part but what kind of maintenance is involved weekly especially water changes?

If it is running well you are looking at 10% weekly being a healthy water change scheduled. If the tank is running really well you could go longer, but this is not ideal.
