Wet/Dry For Saltwater

is this a good idea for saltwater tanks w/ live rock? i heard somewhere there not such a good idea.
 
if you use live rock in your sump and have the rock submerged in water thats fine.

Wet/Dry's usually get a bum wrap because of the bio balls and how the water trickles over them creates an abundance of nitrates. If you go reef you want to keep your nitrate levels down. Thus bioballs are kind of a reefers enemey.
 
ok so its not a good idea if i decide to get coral or something, but for live rock its good to go?
