Through the glass, it won't make any difference. Glass is glossy, no matter what, and that's the side you'll be looking at. Gloss would probably resist wear and stains better though, as it has more of a sealed surface, matte is more porous.

I would use high gloss as it is better for water to roll off than a Matted as it would soak up the water and then start to crack and peel off. Imagine painting your bathroom with matter paint. Lol

I was told to use a foam roller too, as glass is certainly not easy to paint. It doesn't let the paint adhere well. I heard spray paint is good, but I have to use a roller since mine is set up already.
