What Do I Need?

I was wondering because I really want a saltwater tank what I would need to start a saltwater tank and what I would need to do and how to start one and stuff. Please help me learn about this thanks

Tank,stand,0light fixture, either canister or hob filter (depending on size), protein skimmer, refugium/sump (depending on size), salt, refractometer, test kit, 1.5-2 lbs of rock per gallon of tank, some form of substrate. Various buckets and measuring cups, possibly a rodi unit....and lastly fish I think that covers it

For a 55gallon tank, would a canister filter work for a sump? Like fx5 i think its called.

I'm sure it could be modded to act as a sump, but I would just go with a 20g long for a sump on a 55.......you could use a 10g but that's a tad small

I have a 15gallon 24x12ish Next question would of been is this enough.
