What does 50 lbs of LR look like?

I am starting a new tank and will be getting 50 lbs of LR in about 10 days. I want to cycle it in my basement in a plastic tub. How big of a tub would I need for this amount of rock? I have no idea what to expect, any ideas?

I recommend the rubbermaid "brutus" trash can. You can get it in 30 and 44 gallon sizes. Its not that other rubbermaids won't work fine, they are all made from a single piece of material so they have no seams to leak, however I am usually more comfortable with the Heavy Duty Brutas because if something goes wrong with the heater you have thicker material and less chance of melting a thinner plastic.

Also don't forget that if its a new tank you can cure it right in the tank and not mess with trashcans.
