What does CC and Aragonite Sand look like?

Both will be a white color. If you are trying to determing if you have a calcium carbonate substance, drop some of it in vinegar and see if it fizzes and dissolves. If it reacts then it is aragonite.
 
The problem is that I don't know what type of sand I have. My cousin had some left over sand and he too forgot what type of sand it is. After reading about how DSB can help greatly break down nitrites, I just want to make sure I have the correct sand
 
CC is a very large grain... akin to freshwater aquarium gravel in size. Aragonite sand is a fine grain sugar like sand. If you aren't sure if your sand is aragonite, the vinegar trick mentioned above will help you find out. HTH
