Mounting the AquaClear 50 power heads at the top is fine, when we talk about pointing them up mostly we are talking about using the 45 degree deflector that comes with most power heads to direct the stream towards the surface.

If you haven't figured it out yet I like to BOLD links :P

alright, so here's what is going to happen. i get paid on the 1st of the month, and i am going to have about 100 dollars to spend. that's for shipping and everything. i have to get it shipped priority because i live in japan and it will go to an APO box. i want to get those powerheads next, should i get the aquaclear 50's? and also, will 2 of them be enough? i also have the canister filter creating some movement, but i'm not sure if the 2 powerheads will be enough. i would like to stick with only 2, so if it wouldn't be enough, i would just rather get 2 bigger ones. and i think that with whatever i don't spend on the 2 powerheads, i am just going to go and get some more live rock. i can't by it by the pound here, i have to actually pay by the rock. each rock is 2800 yen, which is about 25 dollars. anyways, am i going about this the right way with the powerheads?
