Greetings to all,

In my 125 G tank, I have two returns from the sump, one rotating and two Kolia 3 powerheads. I have tough time placing them to achieve good flows to all corals. Some mention placing them and establish a circular pattern while others suggest counterflow (one facing the others). Any ideas will be appreciated. DP

I have my two return pumps facing each other to produce chaotic flow which is what they would be seeing on the reef. There is no pattern flow on the reef. JMO.

You could also point them at 45% angles to opposite walls of the AQ. This is good if the flow is very strong. I would try Mike's way first..

I agree with the random flow approach. I have my powerheads aimed at eachother meeting at a very narrow angle. It creates just what he is talking about and the corals (especially my SPS) seem to be doing much better versus when I had them aimed opposite to try to create a "broader" flow.
