I have a 48" aquaticlife T5HO that I'm happy with. Ran me about $130. but I believe for easy to care for corals you could get away with some high end PCs...am I correct? It'd be alot cheaper.
no power compacts are not really cheaper then T5s they are more or less the same price, but lack the output and the bulbes are more expensive to replace

i would stay away from that, look for soemthign with reflectors for each bulb, i'll get you a 48" fixture from the brand i just bought. i paid $110 for a 4 lamp 24"
My LFS keeps everything under PC bulbs, sps included. As long as they are close enough to the light just about anything can go under PC bulbs. They have acropora, porites etc. in their 1' deep tank under maybe 3 watt per gallon of PC and they look healthy and fluoresce.
