I was always under the impression a peninsula tank was viewable from 3 sides and looked just like a..peninsula.. imagine florida condensed into like a 40 breeder.

yeah i've seen it both ways. what came to mind first was a tank build i was watching on another forum. he had a stand alone tank, and his plumbing was under the tank in a cabinet. then all his other plumbing went through the floor. it was pretty amazing actually.

It's pretty common actually to drop stuff through the floor on larger tanks. Makes things a lot easier and lots more room.
