What makes ClownFish go Carpet Surfing..

Ok now this is my second one that took a bite out of the carpet.. This is getting a bit frustrating.. I know that I can cover the tank with eggcrate or something but I dont want too... The lights are MH so they sudden shock of bright lights would be minimal if any at all.. There was 3 in the tank this time 2 wild caught and 1 TR.. All True Percs.. The one that jumped out was one of the wild caught ones and I found it not too long after he jumped.. Not soon enough to save.. I tried as he was still wet but he was already a gonner.. Please help

Sorry to say, but the only 100% way to stop jumping is to cover the tank ecompletely or lower the waterlevel down a couple of inches so that the fish will not be able to make it all the way out of the tank.

Tank covers also help limit evaporation and contamination.

You can make covers from the egg crate lighting diffusers... It lets all the light in, yet keeps the fish in..
