What the heck is a polishing stone?

what is it and are they a waste of time? The reason why I ask is that I'm looking at sumps on ebay and there are several which have them as well as bio balls, and I know those are worthless. Thoughts?

I wonder if it's some type of carbon "polishing". Can you post one of the auctions that has this included?

I'm sorry, I still have no idea what they mean. I thought a visual may give insight but, I got nothing. It's probably something really simple too. Perhaps you could send him/her and inquiry.

the polishing stone is not a stone but prolly that little white poly pad that gose on top of the drip tray. the poly pad just remove fine stuff from the water. when he say the prfilter he is prolly talking about the spong that gose in the over flow box. just an idea.
