What to feed detrivore kits?

Ok. I am getting closer to completing my SW tank. But I do have a question. What the heck do I feed my detrivore kit that I am planning on introducing to the tank once the ammonia and nitrite levels fall of?

Can I use fish food that sinks? Will the be fine? When I finally add my fish I assume that they will be able to live of any uneaten food that settles to the bottom. Is this correct or will I always have to supplement my detrivore kit with other certain foods?

Or am I thinking about this waaaaay to much...

I would throw a little bit of flake in there, very little. Once there are fish and you are feeding them regularly, yes they will do just as the name describes, detrivores, eating left over food and waste
