white slime on base rock

Base rock and sand have been in the tank now for a week. No lr yet.
a milky white slime has started to form in spots on a couple of the base rock, none bigger than a silver dollar. It (I don't mean to be gross) looks like a matter someone blows from their nose. (sorry).
I used the siphin hose and it comes right off. Any ideas, or is this normal?

I had that. I am not sure what it is, but my urchins cleaned it up as soon as I put them in. If I remember correctly, mine looked like white slime mold.
