Wonder what r some easy and good starter coral

I'm new to this place. But have a 55g tank. I'm making a reef. So still have lot to learn. In the tank right now I have

2- cleaner shrim
1-arrow crab. ( that just let out thousands of babies. )
1-star fish can't remember the type.
5- peppermint shrimp
And loads of mixed sized snails and some crabs. The coral I have is stuff that came with the live rock I got.

And 1-Morey eel. Not sure the type but when I got him was told he was a fresh water ( yea I fell for it. ). Looked ot up and found out no such thing. So had to slowly bring the tank to salt witch worked out great cus he went on a killing spree when I was to sick for a week to get up and feed him and clean the tank out of all our fresh water fish.

But have a wet/dry ran into the closet. My skimmer is a hang on back one but seems lime it's doing good. Wonder what r some easy and good starter coral. Lfs has been great and have worked with me alot and helped with good deals. And answers to questions I have every day lol.

tank looks pretty good! Lots of overhangs with your rock, I like that.

Welcome to AA!. That eel hasn't finished with it's killing spree. He'll eat your shrimp too. You might want to re-consider keeping him if you want to do a reef tank.

Was thinking the same thing. But he eats everyother day and the shrimp will even grab on to his face and clean him right after a feeding and he leaves them alone. Been in with him for about 3 months so far. Just taking it very slow on adding things In to it.

So was at the Lfs today and was talking to the guy about my tank. The room my tank sits in is the warmest room in the house and my tank is sitting steady at 80-81 degrees. Did some reading and a lot of people say that for reef 80-84 is good. Bit guy at Lfs is telling me I have to be at 76. Is he right or am I ok at were I'm at. I have a couple fans around the tank to try and help but don't know if I need a chiller or if I'll be ok.

np get used to it though, before to long you'll be rushing to buy new stuff for it

A consistent temp at your range is fine. Just don't want frequent swings. Don't try to take it where that lfs suggested. Consistent 81 is good.

So hard to get a good pic of him. Ever since I put the t5ho lights in he just stays in his caves I made for him.
