So the new tank setup Ibought has 4 slots for small filter cartridges. Two are carbon with biomedia which I know is fine. BUT the tiher two are zeolite with biomedia in them.

Am i correct in assuming zeolite is a no no in sw?

Any help would be great as I need to setup the tank and filter tomorrow and also order more cartridges if the zeolite is a no go.

Thanks so very much everyone!

I read it doesn't hurt, but doesn't help the tank at all. It doesn't collect ammonia, but 'other ions'. Your tank will be fine :)

In my freshwater tanks the zeolite is a combination of carbon and ammonia remover. I've never used an ammonia remover in sw and I think in the fluval insert it says for fw use and doesnt mention saltwater.

Just don't wanna nuke the tank before I even begin lol

I have marineland carbon and ammo remover mix and right on the front it says not for use on saltwater. I know it doesn't say that because of the carbon so IMO I would be safe than sorry and not use it.
