17usg stocking options

I'm moving a few of my fish to different tanks and need a little help in deciding what to do with my 17usg tank

Options are as follows, pick your favourite. Feel free to suggest changes:

Option 1
6 cardinal tetras
2-3 platy
3 Otos
Shrimp

Option 2
6 cardinal tetras
3 guppies
Shrimp

Option 3
Dedicated fancy guppy tank (how many?)

Option 4
Betta
2-3 fancy guppies
Shrimp

I'm at a crossroads here....help!

Not 4. A Betta could nip/kill fancy guppy because of their flowing tails looking like other bettas.
I like option 1

Sounds good. Why not 8 cardinals, 3-4 guppies, 3 Otto and shrimp. Are you thinking all male guppies or male female?

I like the idea of 1 male and 2/3 females. Let the little guy have some fun

If (when) they breed, I will just have to buy another tank

Yes! Option #1. Tanks that have schooling fish in them always look the best
