I recently bought a 20 gallon hex tank having no idea how bad it was and now I realize I probably can’t put any fish in it and can barely fit any plants.Should I sell it?Idk what to even do with it

You can put fish in that tank no problem. Smaller fish like danios, tetras and many more. I would go hatchetfish for top water, celestial pearl dainos for mid and corydoras for bottom. For plants you could still plant heavy. Plant tall growing plants like rotala, myrio, anacharis and have some floating plants like guppy grass or hornwort. I personally don't like the look of hex tanks but it can be done. If you can get what you paid for it and don't want to use it then sell it.
