I'm currently cycling a 36 Gallon Bowfront, and I'm fairly new to aquariums. I've been trying to plan stocking for weeks now. My son insists on a pleco!

Here's my first draft, comments and suggestions welcome:

(top swimmers)
1 Angelfish
1 Betta
(Middle)
6 Harlequin Rasboras
(Bottom swimmers)
1 Bushy Nose Pleco
6 Panda Corys

Questions:
Will a Betta be OK with an angelfish given 36 gallons?

Angelfish are cichlids and can be aggressive. And they get big. I also would not advise one fish of a species (bettas excepted.). Almost all fish are happier and healthier in groups. And I would not consider an angelfish a top swimmer- they will roam everywhere. Hatchetfish are nice top swimmers (but they are notorious jumpers.)
