40 gallon breeder

Getting 40 gallon breeder tank for tropical fish tank. I have had salt water fish for several years. I need help choosing fish. It will have stones for the bottom because I am tired of sand after having it for so many years.

Went to my lfs and considering cherry barbs, harlequin rasbara, Australian rainbow, glow light tetra, platy, neon tetra, red minor tetra, baloon molly , dwarf gourami. I would like a bottom dweller but not sure what to get. I know I wont be able to have all thesebut I want lots of color so any suggestions of what ones and how many would be nice.

I personally love my pearl gouromi's, cardinal tetras, and flag fish. For a bottom dweller I use striata (zebra) loaches.

Id suggest using aquadvisor to figure out numbers for each fish.

Also whats your water like?, are you going planted or non?, and what filter?
