My original plan was to set up a 55 gallon in my dining room. However, after doing some research this may not be the best idea. It would sit on a wall in the middle of the room, not a load bearing wall, and the tank would run parallel to a single floor joist. I wish it would work but after my research even on a stand with a flat bottom that would distribute the weight better I still don't think it would work without the risk of bowing my floors. So do you all think a 40 Long or a 40 breeder would work much safer? Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Personally I like 40 breeders. They have a great footprint which you can grow all sorts of live plants and it's just the right size to keep most community fish.

Would my floor support it without bowing? Thats the real deciding factor. I already have a 55 but I am afraid the weight will bow the floor since it will run parallel with one floor joist.
