Hello guys. I have a 48" long 40 gallon, with lots of hiding places, and so far I have 6 yellow labs in them right now, (some are actually hybrid i think, cuz they're missing the black fins) I know some of you are going to say my tank is too small but I figured i'd try it out, they are all about 1.5" on average...

i was wondering if you guys thought it would be ok if i added 6 more yellow labs for a total of 12 yellow labs in my 40 gallon?

my goal is to eventually breed them, and i want to increase increase the female to male ratio as much as possible for success, and when i go to the pet store they cant really tell me if its male or female, so i have to kind of have luck...

any recommendations? im sure some of you will say to put no more than 10 labs in it, and i understand why, i know they get big, but im wondering if this is a case i can bend the rule a little because im staying with only one cichlid species and they are only mildy agressive...

also i am thinking of doubling up the filters, right now i have a emperor 280 filter and i eventually am going to put a penguin 200 with it, do you guys think this is a good idea?

i also attached a picture of a few of the labs in my tank, i love when they zip around like bullets :) they're so fast...

thx guys!
