I have had 4 platys survive in my tank recently 1 is now shown himself as a male. Do i need ro remove him to stop him breeding with the other 3 female. I am sure they are from different mothers and they and another male died around the time i found them in my pump

If you don't want him breeding then yes remove him. Male livebearers don't care about genetics and will breed with any females available.

If you don’t want to deal with babies, don’t worry about letting them breed. Platys typically eat their own babies, and if they somehow manage to grow up, you can trade them into your local fish store for store credit.
