Best way ?
Put Lights on a timer. No more than 6 hours daily.

Nerite snails are fab...but they'll starve if they run out of algae.

I don't have an algae issue, but I have live plants and various snails.

Otos are great, but algae eaters only eat soft green algae usually. Not all kinds. Otos also need an established tank , at least six months old and there should be some biofilm on the walls and on the live plants for them.

I had a brown algae problem in my 10g one time and in a week 3 Oto's completely cleaned it up.
