And it needs very little light right? So would the room lighting be ok? Or should i get a desk lamp?

Desk lamps can over heat bowls. Be cautious with that. I would personally try it with no additional light, and then work on fixing that if you need to. But, you can try to find a small light of some sort if you want to.

A desk lamp is a good way to go if you use a cfl bulb. That way you can make sure the tank is getting a consistent amour of light each day.

My room has a window an I keep white curtain over it and the moss does fine
