BAD Cycle.... HELP!!

Could be Gill Flukes also, that will cause shrinking of the gill plates (parasite), Velvet is more of a gold 'sheen' on their skin, but I could be wrong...none of my fish have had it, but I did have a Gourami that looked like one of his gills was about 1/4 gone. He eventually bloated up and died, but couldn't tell you why

Thanks for your reply.. I've had alook on google images and I think your right, sadly I don't think theirs much I can do!?!?

Because I have neon tetras that don't have scales I was told you can't add aquarium salt... Would alittle bit hurt? Maybe half that's recommended?
