I am movingly Betta out of my cycled 6gal tank (running a HoB filter that came with it) and looking to restock it with nano fish, probably CPDs.

How much extra bioload will this be? Should I expect to be thrown into a little cycle while the BB catches up? Should I add fish a few at a time? I want 5 or 6 in the end.

As long as this tank has an established filter, you should be able to make the swap with no issues. You should have 6, as they really need to be kept in groups.

6 it is then :)

The filter is established but currently only deals with a single Betta so wasn't sure if 6 nano fish would overwhelm the levels of BB in there for a while.

Thanks for the advice though!

As you would any time you change stock in a tank, just be diligent with your readings. I don't think you'll have an issue. When you change over, I would suggest feeding every other day to let your bb adjust slowly.
