I have a 38 gallon bow front that has been wintering my dad's pond fish and it's time for them to go home, I am free to make my own plans :)

I want to make a Betta sorority

I know a few things...still in research phase

I would appreciate tips ....

Here's what I have so far:

-my rock work will have to go, but the driftwood is fine...so is the coconut hut
-I will want more driftwood so that I can attach Anubis
-I need surface cover....suggestions?
-there's a bristle nose pleco in the tank so it will be kept at 77-79degrees
-I don't want to have to worry too much about root ferts so I am looking for suggestions on rhizomes plants
-T8 strip will be replaced with a 5000k plant bulb
- I may lose much of my bacteria when I remove the goldfish so I plan to start a sponge filter in my other Betta tank and add it at the same time as the girls
-I plan about a month or two to build the tank before I add them
- is aqueon quiet flow 30 too strong? I have an aqua clear 50 on another tank....or will a sponge filter be enough?
